Covid is still in the air as well, what better time than this to get together with some of your favourite testing colleagues and learn something new from the safety of your own home office? (or bedroom, or basement or kitchen or wherever you're set up as your office away from office)

Accessibility Testing Fundamentals and You
Accessibility and testing for accessibility has always been important but until recently it hasn't actually been on the radars of many people making spend decisions. The reason for this is that it's becoming a matter of law. Two provinces in Canada have legislation requiring compliance with accessibility standards and many others have it on their roadmap, including BC. As such many company's are getting serious about ensuring compliance in their applications and using testing to prove this. At PQA we recognized this as requests for this testing started increasing. We started a formal Testing Practice, added a Practice Lead and for the first time ever developed a certification process to create certified Accessibility Testers. For this yvrTesting our Accessibility Practice lead has agreed to come and give us the basic foundations of accessibility testing to help us all on the initial steps of this journey.

Bio:
Abhishek Gupta
Abhishek is a QA evangelist who is passionate about quality assurance and testing at all levels of an organization. He is currently the Director of Service Delivery, Ontario for PQA Testing, and also leads their Web and Mobility Accessibility TCoE. Abhishek is a PMP and has played key roles throughout his career in positions like Service Center Manager, Delivery Manager, QA Portfolio Manager, and led Managed Services Testing Teams spread across the globe. Abhishek loves to train and coach teams in software testing and its principles and does so by donating his time on weekends to run ISTQB prep classes for upcoming testers.
