Speaker 1: Peter Lafontaine
Title: Fueling the Future: Digital Integration Across Clean Energy Systems
Peterβs talk will centre around his stand-alone clean fuels facilities, which incorporate all aspects of hardware and software integration β from conceptual digital design and construction to ongoing operations and security. His work encompasses training, safety, control systems, and the integration of visual, sound, and odor sensors, as well as robotics. In addition, Peter utilizes commodity trading services to hedge, manage profitability, and optimize cash flow, including the use of carbon credits.
Speaker 2: Mark Taylor
Title: Utilizing great programming skills and state-of-the-art data centres is not the entire story when it comes to generating stellar value from data. To maximize the value of your ideas it is important to understand the 'value chain'. Rather than expecting that one person can learn all, consider the value of a team. Where will power for our data centre come from? What are the contractual obligations related to our data centre or to the data centre capacity we are leasing? Do we have a subject matter expert to provide the insights needed to focus our efforts? How do we ensure that existing teams or potential clients will embrace the changes that our data skills can bring to their business?
