Sunday Zen meditation at temple

Hi! I’m the owner of the Sapporo Zen Map project, which aims to make Zen practice experiences more accessible for foreign visitors to Sapporo.

Here’s what you can experience:

• Meet at Starbucks in Susukino at 8:30 am
• Go to a temple and participate in a 2-hour Zen session and lesson
• After zazen, have a little chat at a café or restaurant if you’d like

The temple asks for a small donation of 500 yen, which will go directly to the temple.

It’s really simple! Still, you might have some concerns, like:

• “What if I can’t follow their manners?”
• “I’m not good at Japanese…”
• “What should I prepare for the meditation?”
• “What is it really like?”

No worries! I’ll be there to guide you through the whole session at the temple. If you’re curious, just let me know. You can decide whether to join after checking the details.
