About us

šŸ¤– Join us for our ongoing AI series!
Zen Work Lab is a community exploring the connection between Buddhist wisdom and working life in Silicon Valley, gathering each month around a specific theme, brought to life by guest speakers and real conversation.

Join us for a friendly evening at the historic Kannon Do Zen Meditation Center, a peaceful space that has quietly welcomed, for decades, some of the Valley’s most iconic minds, including Steve Jobs and many more.

We’ll explore how Buddhist wisdom meets the realities of modern work, from too many browser tabs to the occasional existential crash, with a bit more clarity, steadiness, and freedom in how we respond.

The evening includes:
🧘 A gentle introduction to Zen meditation (no experience needed)
šŸŽ¤ A guest speaker
šŸ’¬ A casual group discussion
šŸµ A relaxed tea and snack time to connect in a warm, welcoming space

Whether you’re feeling stretched by the pace of work, trying to stay clear in the middle of meetings that could have been emails, or simply looking for a more grounded way to relate to your professional life — you’re very welcome to join us.

Even if the meetup is full, feel free to come by.

šŸ¤– Join us for our ongoing AI series!

Part of Zen Work Lab — a community exploring Zen and working life in Silicon Valley.

This month, our guest speaker is Paul Teyssier, who currently leads Product & Design at Cohere, one of the world’s leading AI companies. Previously, he led Product at Front and served as President of Superhuman, the high-performance email platform.

Paul brings a distinctive perspective to the AI conversation. Rather than approaching AI primarily as a research breakthrough, he has spent his career focused on turning emerging technologies into products that people and organizations can genuinely trust, adopt, and benefit from. His experience sits at the intersection of product design, leadership, and technological transformation.

Paul will share how his Zen practice has influenced his vision of AI, what it means to create technology in service of human flourishing, and how contemplative practice and technological innovation can inform one another.

The evening includes:

🧘 A 10-minute silent meditation

šŸŽ¤ A guest talk introducing the evening’s theme

šŸ’¬ A group discussion

šŸµ A relaxed tea and snack gathering to continue the conversation

Join us at Kannon Do Zen Meditation Center, a historic space that has quietly welcomed some of Silicon Valley’s most influential minds, including Steve Jobs.
