GENERAL INFORMATION:
Welcome to Zoom Tangling. Sue Schneider will guide you through this meditative drawing art form. Step-by-step, you will learn the basic process for creating a small, abstract design using repetitive pattern skills. Zentangle is easy, relaxing and stress-free; perfect for "these challenging times".

FIRST-TIMERS: If you are brand new to Zentangle, I'm happy to send you my Beginner's Guide, that will fill you in on background, basic techniques and some starter patterns. Just email me at sue.schneider.artist@gmail.com with "Beginner's Guide Request" in the subject line.

Our session will begin at 6:30 p.m. Please try to arrive a few minutes early so you can be ready to go.

The lesson will be 60-75 minutes. Sue will demonstrate patterns and techniques for you to follow along. At the end, 7:45-8:00 p.m., we'll share our creations and wrap-up.

GENERAL SUPPLIES NEEDED: Please provide a standard pencil, a fine tipped black marker, and paper on which to draw. Optional: Tortillion (blending stub), colored pencils, white and red fine tipped markers.

Supplies recommendations: Pen: Sakura Pigma Micron 01; Uniball Vision Micro; Sharpie Fine (.4 mm) "No Bleed". Paper: We usually work on a 3.5" square paper (called a "tile"). Good quality papers that work well are Strathmore Vellum Bristol, 95# or 140# watercolor paper, a "Mixed Media" sketchbook, 65# card stock. Lately, I like to use a 4x6" blank index card, either as is or cut to a 4" square.

FOR THIS CLASS:
I'll list here any special tools or materials for this specific class; but nearly all classes can be done with these basics:
1. Basic white "tile" (Cardstock weight smooth paper) I usually draw on blank 4x6" index cards, sometimes cut down to a 4x4" square.
2. A black fine line permanent pen. Recommended Sharpie ultra fine ("no bleed") or Micron Pigma pen 01
3. Standard graphite pencil (#2)
4. Optional blending stub called a "tortillion"

In a pinch, a 4x6" blank index card will work, just cut it to 3.5" square.

Meet fellow Zentangle enthusiasts, drawing together with expert instruction from Certified Zentangle Teacher, Sue Schneider. No previous experience required. Supplies provided for beginners. There are 2 sessions each month, on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays. Each session features a new lesson. Our sessions explore a variety of themes and topics; always working with the basic concepts of Zentangle but often with new pattern introductions and techniques (e.g., shading, color, non-abstract, use of tinted papers, etc.).
