From Tailgate to Table: Food Recovery from the Recent Super Bowl Tailgates
Zero Food Waste Forum Webinar
Friday, April 10th . 1 to 2 pm
Large events are one of the most challenging sectors
for edible food recovery. Due to complex logistics, food
safety requirements, and the one-time nature of many
events, jurisdictions and food recovery organizations
often navigate unfamiliar terrain when planning the
recovery of surplus edible food at festivals, sporting
events, and other high-attendance gatherings.
Join the NCRA Zero Food Waste Committee for a
discussion with leaders from Food Recovery Network
on how large-scale food recovery was successfully
planned and executed at recent Super Bowl tailgate
events in the SF Bay Area. Participants will gain
insights into how jurisdictions, event operators, and
recovery partners can strengthen SB 1383 compliance
efforts and recover more edible food from large events.
