What we’re about

Qigong (often spelt Chi Kung, 氣功) is a type of health exercise, which has been practised in China for centuries. There are many different styles of qigong, but the most powerful one is called Zhan Zhuang.

Zhan Zhuang literally means “standing like a tree”. What is unique about Zhan Zhuang is that it involves very little movement. All movement occurs internally. Zhan Zhuang is practiced in well-balanced standing positions which increase the flow of energy, build up internal strength and stills the mind. The practice is also often referred to as Standing Meditation.

The Zhan Zhuang system is based on a unique combination of relaxation and exertion which stimulates, cleanses, and massages the whole body. "While you practice, you relax, and while you relax, you practice". It harmonizes the nervous system, and as a result, all parts of the body can start to work together more efficiently and in harmony.
