Fun Paddle for a Triathlon - Quail Creek State Park
Details
Southern Utah Triathlon is BACK! Swim starts at 8:00am. Come and help support swimmers on the water as a volunteer. It's meaningful work, and we're also helping our county Search and Rescue Dive Team (SAR) raise funds for their operations. You will be a resting stop for athletes to stretch, get their bearings, take a breath... as long as you don't advance them in the course! :)
Kayaks provided by Dig Paddlesports for volunteers. There should be a shirt and some munchies for you from the triathlon, as well.
SAR will provide direction for on-water volunteers. PFDs required and provided for all Dig kayak or paddleboard use. I'll just have you sign a waiver. Gear is on our beach. Water is up, and the shoreline is not muddy like it was just two weeks ago.
Orientation meeting at the boat ramp at 7:30 am. Try to be there by 7:15 at the Dig shop. We'll have you park on the shore by our white trailer, as we did last year, IF you want to. It's not required, but our parking tends to get gobbled up by triathletes early in the day. We should be done by 9:30.
No need to demonstrate swimming capability at this one, but self-check; make sure you are able to get back into your own vessel, unassisted.
See you on Saturday at Quail Creek State Park!
