Hike XC to the hidden Glacier Spring on to beautiful Dry Lake!

Details
That amazing back country picture is actually what Dry Lake looks like this year. There is no road going to it, so it's reserved especially for hikers like you!
If you'd like to try a guided cross-country adventure, this one is beautiful and only a handful of people know this route or how to get to Glacier Spring. We will hike for a little over 3 miles on the South Fork Trail, then depart from the main trail at South Fork Meadows and take a hidden old mining trail, long since forgotten, that leads past Glacier Spring. The water is cold, clear and delicious! Few know of this beautiful spot because it is only possible through cross country travel.
From here, we will travel up a ravine to Dry Lake, which is not dry this time of year and is actually exceedingly beautiful. In the autumn it is a pretty meadow, but right now it is a pretty back country lake.
We will not be attempting the peak on this trip, but we will look at the Winter Ascent Routes from below.
Finally, we will practice some amazing stone skipping if the lake is not choppy.
Either on the way in or on the way out we will contemplate the awesome power and fury of avalanches as the trail winds through the chutes where they have taken place in winters past. There may even be evidence of avalanches last winter since it was a huge snow year. Don't worry, we will not be going anywhere near an active avalanche chute.
If anyone poops out early, they can turn around at Poopout Hill (yes, that really is its name!) at about 2 miles. For hardy and intrepid souls, the beauty of Dry Lake filled with water will be the final destination. This is a medium to long, fairly challenging trip since we will be covering a full 11 miles round trip if you go the full route!
Planning on pics at Glacier Spring and group pics, snacks, lunch, and maybe skipping stones at Dry Lake.
Don't miss this one!
PS We will leave on time but we will travel at a moderate pace so if you run late you can always just get your hustle on and hike fast to catch up!
