What we’re about

WHAT WE DO
We’re a new community for anyone who enjoys discovering the lakes, hills and forests around Zug and central Switzerland. Our first hikes are still on the drawing board, but the long-term plan is to mix classic mountain walks with other muscle-powered fun—think snowshoeing or via ferrata.

WHO WE ARE

  • An international bunch: newcomers, long-timers, expats, locals, solo travelers—anyone happy to swap screens for fresh air.
  • Volunteer organisers: we’re not guides and we make no profit. We simply post ideas, handle logistics and keep everyone moving in roughly the same direction.
  • Absolute beginners up to seasoned mountaingoats are welcome—provided the activity matches your own fitness, skills and kit (see “T&C” below).

HOW WE OPERATE

  1. Non-commercial – No guiding fees, no commission, no selling. Just shared train tickets, shared smiles.
  2. Public transport first – Trains, buses, boats and Bergbahnen get priority. Meet-ups start at Zug train station unless the event page states otherwise. Car-sharing is fine if the driver offers and passengers split costs.
  3. Safety over everything – Mountains are magical and potentially hazardous. An organiser may decline or turn back any participant if, in their judgment, the person’s health, equipment or behaviour could endanger themselves or the group. No debate, no hard feelings—just common sense.
  4. Leave No Trace – We stick to marked trails, respect wildlife, pack out litter, greet farmers and close gates. Take only happy memories and beautiful pictures with you.

TERMS & CONDITIONS
You participate entirely at your own risk. Zug Outdoor Adventure events are informal meet-ups, not guided tours. By RSVPing “Going,” you confirm that you:

  1. Prepare beforehand. Read the event description, study the route, check the weather, and be realistic about distance, elevation and pace.
  2. Assess yourself. Only sign up if your fitness, alpine experience and gear are up to the stated level. Unsure? Start with an easier outing or message the organiser before RSVPing.
  3. Carry the right kit. Sturdy footwear, clothing for mountain weather swings, food, water, first-aid supplies, map/app, head-torch in winter, insurance that covers mountain rescue—as if you were going solo.
  4. Decide for yourself en route. At any point you are free (and encouraged) to turn back if conditions feel unsafe for you. Don’t rely on anyone else to make that call.
  5. Accept zero liability from organisers. We do our best to provide accurate info, but errors can creep in. Injuries, gear damage, financial losses or worse are your responsibility alone.
