About us
This is a group for those interested in art experiences in and around Zurich. The art tours and events that I organize through my company Art Tours, Etc. are great opportunities for people with shared interests to meet, get to know each other, and create lasting connections.
Join this group to receive announcements for my upcoming events, and to become a part of a large network of people interested in culture and the arts, of which Switzerland has plenty to offer.

The Concentration Camp Exhibition Guided Tour
Location not specified yetGuided tour by me with explanations of The Concentration Camp Exhibition, which features artwork that I discovered during the course of my doctoral research, made in a concentration camp in Transnistria during the Holocaust. Some of the works were displayed immediately after the war in an eponymous exhibition long since forgotten by time and the politics of memory. This is the first attempt to recreate that 1945 exhibition and also present other drawings and artefacts made in the camp by the Jewish detainees. Also shown will be the first documentary about the camp, Vapniarka: Camp of Death

Film Screening "Gestures of Resistance"

Hosted by the Sigi Feigel Gastprofessur für Jüdische Studien, Dr. Jill MarxerTuesday, May 5
6:15–8:15 p.m.
Room KIR 200, Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies
Kirchgasse 9, 8001 Zurich
All are welcome, admission is freeGestures of Resistance connects the voices of some of the last Holocaust survivors from Romania, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia with images of contemporary protest and lived solidarity. The film depicts antifascist resistance in all its forms—armed, civilian, artistic—and explores the meaning of these stories today. In light of resurgent right-wing movements gaining power, resistance is not only remembered but understood as an urgent task of the present.
Following the screening, there will be a discussion in English with the director, Olga Ştefan, and the historian, Prof. Dr. Botakoz Kassymbekova (Department of History, University of Zurich), moderated by Dr. Adam Knowles (Department of Philosophy, University of Zurich).Read a review of the documentary here: https://www.degruyter.com/document/doi/10.1515/eehs-2024-0010/html
