What we’re about
Do you want to help tackle climate change but don’t have the time to become a climate scientist?
The Climate Fresk is a fun, participative yet 100% science-based serious game about climate 🌍 🌱. In just 3 hours, the collaborative Climate Fresk workshop will teach you the fundamental science behind climate change, from the United Nations IPCC panel of scientists, and empower you to take action 💪
How does a Climate Fresk work?
- In 3 hours, the workshop will gather groups of 6 to 8 participants around a table and use their collective intelligence to build the causalities between the concepts surrounding climate change 🌍
- In a first part, they will discover these concepts (cards) and arrange them together to build a mural linking key items together 🤝
- In the second part, participants can unleash their creative minds and make the mural more colourful, but will also have some time to share their experiences and feelings 🎨
- Finally, in the last part, participants will discuss how one can act, at different scales 🗣
Why is the Climate Fresk so successful?
- It’s scientific -- The facts in Climate Fresk are sourced from the most respected scientific publications: the IPCC reports. These are the same reports that inform global political and economic decision-making at the highest level. Climate Fresk is neutral and objective and presents only established scientific facts 👩🔬👨🔬
- It’s accessible -- By activating the group’s collective intelligence, Climate Fresk workshops enable participants to take ownership of the subject matter. The Climate Fresk methodology doesn’t involve an expert presenting information to the group ; instead, it requires all participants to take an active role in the building-up of the Fresk, becoming participative learners 🤝
- It’s effective -- Through a shared understanding of the mechanisms at work, Climate Fresk enables both individuals and organisations to have an open and positive conversation about climate solutions. Participants leave the workshop having formed a strong bond with each other, and are well equipped to implement the climate actions that they have identified 💪
