Why the meetup?
- Consciousness is one of the last big and important unknowns in today’s natural sciences
- I expect it to be critical and related to A(G)I but fundamentally separate
Ideal outcomes:
- Connect researchers and interested individuals to make progress in scientific consciousness research
- Regularly connect, exchange knowledge and distribute research tasks. Focus on work topics for next period.
- Create a Swiss institute of machine consciousness (analog/colab California Institute for Machine Consciousness - https://cimc.ai)
- Building machine-based consciousness.
Not our purpose:
- Purely a philosophy and discussion platform
- Consciousness science communication for the general public.
- Psychological, spiritual or religious approaches to consciousness
