What we’re about

The Zurich Disc Golf Meetup is the place to find events and tournaments within Zurich, as well as nationwide. Let's grow the sport!

INCLUSIVE COMMUNITY
We strive to create a safe and welcoming space where everyone can enjoy disc golf. Our club warmly welcomes women, families, LGBQT+ members, beginners, seniors, and players with disabilities. A welcoming and supportive spirit is essential for the long-term growth of our sport.

BEGINNERS
No discs or playing alone? Not to worry! Please get in touch if you'd like to connect. We'll be happy to lend you discs for the duration of events, and also pair you up with other players.

WHAT IS DISC GOLF?
Disc golf is, in simple terms, golf played with frisbees. The sport is usually played on a course with 9 or 18 holes (upstanding baskets), and involve a nice mix of walking outdoors, socialising and strategic play. The discs that players throw come in 3 main types with names related to ball golf (putter, mid-ranges, and fairway drivers). Each disc has a unique flight characteristic, and there are hundreds to choose from. Therefore disc selection, throwing technique and throwing angle generate interesting strategic decisions.

LOCAL COURSES
Disc golf us usually played in public spaces with free access. Below is a selection of the main courses in the Zurich area, with many more further afield to be found on the UDisc platform:

Hardhof, Zurich
Adliswil
Grüzefeld, Winterthur
Albisbrunn

EQUIPMENT
You'll be able to borrow discs at most of our events to give the sport a try. Alternatively, René from our local disc golf store Schiibelade offers rental discs, and always glad to give helpful advice on a Starter Set, provide coaching, and run events. Disc golf discs cost around 20 CHF each, and you generally only need 1 or 2 to get started (1 putter and 1 mid-range). No other specialist equipment needed.
