Details

Welcome to the 7th Zurich Hardware Meetup!

Whether you're a student or a professional, engineer, or designer, join us to meet others who share a passion for building tangible products.
We’ll have two talks from great guest speakers, and a chance for anyone to share their projects, asks, and questions during an open mic session.
Prototypes are welcome!

Note:
As much as we'd like to have all of you, this time we can only accommodate up to 50 guests: please be mindful when signing up <3

Our speakers:

  • Martin Fröhlich, senior researcher at the ZHdK Immersive Arts Space, will present the Helium Drone Project and the work behind it. The project combines robotics, motion tracking and projection mapping in a unique combination of technology and arts.
  • Luke Franzke is a researcher and head of the Physical Computing Lab at ZHdK’s Interaction Design interested in emerging materials, Human-Computer Interaction, and multi-sensory design. He will discuss Project TOFI, an intra-oral computer interface initially created for tongue muscle therapy, and the unique challenges and insights gained from designing electronic devices for use in the mouth.

Our Partners

  • We are hosted by the Immersive Arts Space, a university-wide art/tech lab that serves as a research, teaching and production platform. With innovative and multidisciplinary projects, the team at the IASpace is conducting a technologically-supported artistic examination of digital immersion, mixed realities, and the convergence of media-based and performative practices
  • Switzerland Innovation Park Zurich positions itself as a dynamic hub for innovators, fostering connections between academia and industry with its unparalleled global network. It serves as a catalyst to enhance their innovation potential and market readiness. Located next to the Dübendorf airfield, its focus areas are primarily, but not exclusively, Robotics & Mobility, Space & Aviation and Advanced Manufacturing.
  • The experienced product development engineers at the ETH Feasibility Lab supported by ETH engineering students help organizations tackle innovative topics that are too uncertain for large-scale projects, by reducing the initial uncertainty through testing of minimal viable prototypes.
  • informal is a freelance collective for the most talented independent professionals in hardware. Whether you're looking for a single contractor, a full-time employee, or an entire team of professionals to work on everything from product development to go-to-market strategy, the informal collective has the perfect collection of people for the job. With expertise in diverse projects ranging from consumer electronics to automotive, green tech, and medical devices, informal members work with clients at every stage to design, manufacture, market, and ship top-quality physical products, built to succeed.
