Details

Welcome to the 14th Zurich Hardware Meetup!
We're migrating over to luma, subscribe here to stay up to date with the latest events!

Every month, we bring together founders, professionals, students and more, who share a passion for Hardware and building tangible products.

For our first meetup of 2025, we're covering the cross over of Hardware and Education:

  • How can we design courses that inspire students to pursue Hardware disciplines?
  • What are key resources needed to impart a strong Hardware education?
  • What complementary skills are often overlooked?
  • And many more questions!

Speakers:

1. Tom Stein (Product Development Group at ETH Zurich)
"We have saved Christmas" (Innovation Project 2024)

The innovation project introduces mechanical engineering students to the most important methods of product development through a complex practical task that they have to solve in small teams. Last year, 465 students built a total of 88 robots in just 10 weeks and competed against each other at the end to see which team could best distribute Christmas presents autonomously to save Christmas.

2. Bernhard Winter (SCEWO)
"SCEWOs journey from a focus project to a scale-up producing electric wheelchairs."
