19:15 - 20:00 : Introduction to Consul Service Mesh

Consul is a service networking solution to connect and secure services across any runtime platform and public or private cloud.
In this talk we will discuss the basic concepts of how Consul Service Mesh is helping to secure service to service communications and how to interconnect various different cloud and runtime environments. We will discuss the recently announced L7 traffic management and Mesh Gateway features of Consul. At the end of the talk we will see a live-demo of Consul Service Mesh interconnecting and securing services spread across multiple clouds (GCP, AWS and Azure) and multiple runtimes (VMs and Kubernetes).

Christoph Puhl
Christoph is working at HashiCorp as Consul Technology Specialist for the DACH region. Before joining HashiCorp Christoph worked at VMware in a european team of networking specialists with a focus on VMware NSX integration into Kubernetes and additionally focussing on all security related topics within the VMware portfolio. Over the last 10 years his technical focus was all about datacenter networking, network virtualization and network automation and he still owns an active CCIE certification.
