Talks:
18:00 - Enforcing guardrails on Terraform Cloud with Styra DAS and OPA - Styra - Greg Brown
Making sure your infrastructure complies with security best practices and all the organization’s requirements is a difficult task. It slows down the development and provisioning of necessary resources. Security teams have to scan infrastructure to find policy violations. Terraform Cloud combined with Styra DAS, a policy-as-code management control plane can help keep infrastructure compliant by forcing verification of Terraform configurations at provision time.
In this session, we’ll demonstrate how this integration works and the power of policy-as-code in maintaining the organisation’s security policies.

18:20 - Container Image Management with Harbor- 8gears AG / Localstack - Vadim Bauer and Giovanni Grano
Project Harbor is an open-source cloud native registry that stores, manages, signs, and scans OCI artifacts. It has been widely used by organizations large and small around the world to resolve both the container image and Helm Chart management challenges. In this presentation, we will cover some USP features of Harbor and how it can be automated with Terraform or with Kubernetes CRDs as an alternative.

Speaker Bio: Vadim Bauer
Vadim is a Container Silverback, who has been running containers in production since 2013. As a maintainer of the CNCF project Harbor, he today helps users to manage container images with Harbor and other CNCF projects. As someone who builds tools for developers every day, he has made it his mission to always look at developer experience first. With 8gears, Vadim provides professional services around Harbor and Harbor as a Service for ISVs, enterprises and cloud providers.

18:40 - “Look Ma, no Hands! Using Terraform to bring up the Renku Infrastructure and Application Stack” - Swiss Data Science Centre, ETH - Sean Murphy
In this talk I will describe how we use Terraform to deploy and manage the Renku Data Science platform, including network and VM provisioning, Kubernetes deployment and management, DNS registration and passing control to Flux which then brings up the Renku Application components. I will demonstrate green field deployment, describe all the moving parts and discuss how we manage and operate the system incorporating both infrastructure and application dimensions.

Speaker Bio: Sean Murphy
Sean Murphy is a Cloud Engineer in the Swiss Data Science Cente where is responsible for managing and operating the Renku Data Science Platform.
