Arvigrad between OW/NW

Let’s hike together to the Arvigrad. We will follow between 2-3 hours the well known ridge which offers panoramic views on the OW canton on the right, and NW canton on the left. The lakes of Luzern, Sarnen and the Pilatus, Stanshorn, Titlis mountains will be around us. And saturday should be very sunny. This ridge presents no big difficulty (I did it last year) but it’s recommended of course not to fear (too much) the height.

We take to cable car at Dallenwil and start the Hike from Wirzweli to Acherli and follow the ridge (Path Nr88 see picture) up to Gräfimattstand (walk time 4H) and will go down on the NW side to Oberalp (1h30). Bring your picnic, there is no restaurant and no water on the path. We will make a break on the ridge to eat. We will go back with the cable car and walk to the Wolfenschiessen train station

Level: T3
Pace: normal 400-500m elevation / hour, not slow, not fast …
Bring enough water (2-3l) and snacks/lunch, proper hiking boots as well as sun protection
13.5 kms - 1130m up– 940m down. 5H30 without breaks.

Train from Zurich HB 8H10 (Track 8) or Bern HB 8H00 (Track 9) – change Luzern 9H10 (Track 14) –arrival 9H29 Dallenwil – Price Half tax 13 CHF From Zurich, 24 CHF from Bern (see the picture)

Way back (example): wolfenschiessen 17H22 (Track 2). Arrival 19H Bern (19.8 CHF) or 18H51 Zurich (16.5 CHF) (see pictures)

Cable car Dallenwil (12CHF) every 20 mn
Cable car Oberalp (11CHF) self service

Appointment 9H29 Dallenwil train station to take the first cable car: I come with my car and wait for you there. Please try to contact each other in the train if you don t want to travel alone.
