Panorama hike in Saas-Fee valley/ +931 m/ -204 m / 11 km/ 5 hrs/ T2/3

Our hike starts from Saas-Almagell, and climbs above the tree line. We enjoy breathtaking views over the Saas-Fee valley, its larch trees glowing in shades of yellow, and over the Mischabel massif, where Switzerland’s highest peaks rise above shimmering glaciers. The weather expected on Sunday may bring us the rare feeling of walking in sunshine above the clouds. We come to Kreuzboden, from where we take the cable car down to Saas-Grund. The route essentially follows this one but we do it in the opposite direction.

MEETING AND GETTING THERE:

• 06:32 IC1 from Zurich HB to Bern/ 07:34 EC from Bern to Visp
• We meet either in the train to Visp or already at Visp's bus terminal (platform of the bus B511 to Saas-Fee). Just in case, I will send the WhatsApp group invitation to the registered participants on Saturday around 9pm
• 08:44 B511 to Saas-Grund Post/ 09:30 B513 to Saas-Almagell Dorf

EQUIPMENT CHECKLIST (not limited to):

• Sturdy mountain/trail running shoes
• (Optionally) trekking poles
• Warm layers
• Sun and rain protection
• Water and food sufficient for the 5-hour hike
