Let's go hiking on Tuesday!
Snow hike up to Oeschinensee:

We hike Path A, this is the road up to the lake, then up to the restaurant at the cable car station for a hot soup and a piece of cake. We take the cable car to return to Kandersteg, the last one is around 5 pm.

500 m ascent, 3 h.
Rendezvous 1: Zurich HB, under the Blue Angel 8.20 am
Rendezvous 2: Bern train station 09.30 platform 9 (on the train).
Rendezvous 3: Kandersteg Gondola Station 11 am.
How to get to Kandersteg:
The train departs Zurich HB 08.32 (direction Geneve, platform 32), arriving 09.28 in Bern, then the 09.39 (platform 9, direction Iselle di Trasquera) arriving 10.40 in Kandersteg.
Essential!: Above the ankle hiking boots! and a hiking pole.
Snow hiking boots, snowshoes, microspikes, touring skis (all optional).

Bring: snacks, sun cream, hiking poles, headlamp, gloves
Wear: warm winter clothes, gloves.
What else? The weather forecast is dry, sunny and 5°C however, in the Alps, this can change. Make sure you have something windproof that can keep you warm and dry.

The state of the path is unknown, although it is open. It is unseasonably warm in the Alps this weekend, and all the snow may be gone by Tuesday. Consider that if you bring snowshoes you may be carrying them up the mountain. The hike is a snow hike and should be possible with hiking boots. It may be icy. If there is too much snow or it is too icy, we will take the cable car up instead.
