Guided Hike, Toggenburg

Dear hikers,

This event is targeted to dedicated and fit hikers, guided by a local, trained mountain leader (2-year training) for group of 8 people max, curious about nature and willing to take up a 6h hike, eventually rewarded by a dip in a small lake (optional) and an apero + dinner in the evening.
Let's meet up on Saturday morning at 10.30 directly at the hike's starting point : Wildhaus, Dorf.

Hike Description (see map attached)

• Meeting / starting point: Wildhaus, Dorf bus station, 10.30 (bus arrives from Zurich at 10.28)
• Finish : Unterwasser, Dorf (no set timing)
• Transport : to be arranged individually
• Length : 18km
• Hiking time : 5h30 excl. breaks
• Ascent / Descent : 970m / 1150m
• Min / Max Altitude : 900m / 1645m
• Hike level : T2 (link to SAC hiking scale)
• Lunch break : please take food & water along (picnic midway)
• Dip in the lake : Gräppelensee, towards the end of the hike
• Drink/dinner: we can enjoy a well-deserved drink and dinner at the Aelpli restaurant or directly at the Unterwasser village, depending on our timing

Equipment / misc.

• Hiking /trail shoes (no sneakers)
• Backpack (ideally not more than 10% of your own weight)
• Sunglasses / sunscreen
• Warm jumper (due to low morning temperature)
• Light rain jacket (in case of wind/rain)
• 2nd Tshirt (optional, for comfort after hike)
• Hiking poles (optional)
• Swimsuit / towel
• Camera / cell phone
• Cash (as credit card are not always accepted in the mountains)
