Guided Weekend Trek, Saas Fee, Wallis

Dear hikers,

This event is targeted to dedicated and fit hikers, guided by a local, trained mountain leader (2-year training) for group of 7 guests max, curious about nature and willing to take up 6h hikes. We will be heading for that weekend to scenic Saas Fee region, we will stay overnight in a Berghotel (mountain hotel) surrounded by 4,000m summits.
Let's meet up directly in Saas Grund on Saturday morning, 04 July, at 10.30.

Hike Description day 1 (see maps attached)

• Meeting / starting point: Saas Grund, Gondelbahen Kreuzboden, 10.30 (bus arrives at 10.18)
• Finish : Almagelleralp Berghotel
• Transport to Saas Grund: to be arranged individually
• Length : 13km
• Hiking time : 5h00 excl. breaks
• Ascent / Descent : 1,150m / 510m
• Min / Max Altitude : 1,550m / 2,520
• Level : T3 (see link to SAC levels)

Hike Description day 2

• Starting point: Almgelleralp Berghotel
• Finish : Saas Fee
• Transport back home: to be arranged individually
• Length : 16km
• Hiking time : 6h00 excl. breaks
• Opt-out : option to take the cable car back down from Spielboden
• Ascent / Descent : 950m / 1,330m
• Min / Max Altitude : 1,670m / 2,350m
• Level : T2

Equipment / logistic
********************

• Hiking /trail shoes (no sneakers)
• Backpack (ideally not more than 10% of your own weight)
• Sunglasses / sunscreen
• Warm jumper
• Rain jacket (in case of wind/rain)
• Hiking poles (optional)
• Swimsuit / towel
• Picnic (food and water) for at least the first day
• 2nd Tshirt / underwear (for comfort after hike)
• Tooth brush / tooth paste
• Small silk sleeping back for huts
• Cash (as credit card are not always accepted in the mountains)

• Sign up and please pay the fee (due to hotel booking)
• Fee of 150.- includes overnight, organization, half board meals,
• Excludes transport, drinks, picnics for day 2 arranged by the hut

• Event cancellation : in case of bad weather or too low participation, the money will be paid back
• Participation cancellation or no-show : fee will be lost
