Last sunny hike : Pilatus Kulm from Alpnach
Details
Let s go up to Pitalus for the last hike in the season in the montains (at least for me !). The weather will be very sunny on sunday. It could be a good opportunity to see the unbelievable nice views on the alps chain, from Rigi to Eiger, and on the Luzern and Sarnen Lakes. Should be also less people as usual !
We go up by foot and go down with the public transport. The distance from Alpnachstad to Pilatus Kulm is 8 km with altitude difference 1650 m. It should take us 4 and ½ hours. This Trail is classified T2/T3 and has no exposed parts. Nevertheless, the hike has a strong positive gradient. Make sure you are in a good physical condition.
We will make a break and have lunch before or at the top. Those who don't bring their pic nic can buy food/drinks at the restaurant.
Just note that the cablecars don t work for maintenance. We will only have the opportunity to go down with the train to alpnach with the public transport (21 CHF with halbtax).
Bring something to eat, snacks, 2-3 l of water, sun cream, sun glasses, cap/wool hat, hiking boots (no sport or jogging shoes), warm clothes (temperatur should be low at the top but with the sun), walking Sticks... and good mood
We meet at Hauptbahnhof Alpnachstadt at 09:28. Train from Luzern to Alpnachstad 09:12 (track 14), Train from Zurich 08:10 (track 6) with a change at Ebikon and Luzern (30 CHF back and forth)
