Avoid Bad Estimations and Over-Commitment

Estimations are an important part of the Scrum process. If done right, team estimations ensure the success of the next sprint and on top create a big picture of the project in every team member’s head. If done wrong, estimations generate a lot of stress and result in unfinished sprints and bad product quality.

Our current situation is that most team members don't take estimations seriously. Estimations need preparation and a lot of focus of every team member. They require out-of-the-box thinking of every developer and there is no motivation to do this.

Steffi will present the current situation at Amazee Labs in a more detailed way and will show the identified obstacles. Based on this introduction we will look for tips, tricks and solutions to help all of us deal with this situation, which is all-too-common in most POs' lives.
