WinteR Meetup: DevOps for Data Science
Details
Today, R is not only running on many individual researchers' notebooks but also on clusters, in CI/CD processes and other production setups. Our speakers present how they use R in a steadily evolving opensource ecosystem.
The meetup will be hosted by the KOF Swiss Economic Institute and will take place in the LEE Building at ETH Zurich:

Stéphane Bisinger: Scientific Software Engineer, KOF Swiss Economic Institute, ETH Zurich
Workflow and Workload Management with Airflow & Ray
Stéphane will show the KOF Swiss Economic Institute handles their regular computation workloads in a Kubernetes environment. In his talk Stéphane will explain how the role of R evolved over time and how KOF transitioned from single VMs Airflow to Kubernetes to manage and monitor the institutions everyday workloads stemming from academic research and the construction and operation of economic indicators that play an important role in monitoring the Swiss economy.

Dr. Patrick Schratz: CEO & Founder of devXY
Diversifying the R Ecosystem - New Approaches for Package Binaries & Publishing
Patrick's talk will show how he leverages different opensource components to manage data science environments professionally for his clients.
On his journey to bridge data science & devOps Patrick has authored several R packages and runs community infrastructure in addition. In his talk Patrick will present his latest work on opensource powered R package binary builds and a new tool to host Shiny apps, APIs and more.
