This workshop will take you on a musical journey with the instruments of the escola de samba and the practice of popular Brazilian rhythms like samba de roda, jongo, cabula, baião, coco, xaxado, ijexá, congo.

Origin - Historical context, regions and cultural traditions of each studied genre.

Claves - Exercises using hand claps, voice and body movement to assimilate different rhythmic designs.

Rhythm Applications - Adaptation of rhythms and arrangements for each drum section.
