About the line-up

GILLI APTER (host)
Gilli is a South African comedian, who has toured the world, hosting the hit comedy show, Story Party. She performs in L.A., New York and most often London - where she is a regular face on the comedy circuit and continues to host Story Party on a weekly basis. Gilli was selected by Trevor Noah to film a short special as part of his Nationwild show for South Africa's streaming service, Showmax. She recently filmed a short special for the Netflix show, Only Jokes Allowed.

MARIA SHEHATA
Maria is an award-winning Egyptian-American comedian based in London, and has been featured on Comedy Central Live and The Watch List, Showtime's Bridging the Gap, Comic Relief's viral Modern Dating
Horror Stories, BBC's Period Dramas and Dave Channel's Comedy Guide to Life. Her writing has been featured in Modern Love in the New York Times, and she was shortlisted as Top Five Best New Acts and named Pick of the Fringe at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.

JESSICA KARLÉN
Experience musical comedy maven Jessica Karlén from Sweden as she brings a blend of jokes, melodies, and unfiltered humor. Jessica captivates audiences with her unique charm, addressing taboo subjects like addiction, drugs, and relationships in her standup comedy musical, 'Queen and Sober.' Delve into her journey through drugs, relationships, and mental health, and get ready for a fun, true, and totally insane ride bound to leave you laughing uncontrollably. Kuan-wen Huang
Leicester Comedy Festival 2023 Best Show nominee Kuan-wen Huang is a Taiwanese comedian based in London. He has appeared on multiple digital series. As one of the most recognisable faces amongst performers of East Asian heritages in the UK, Kuan-wen has written for and acted in East Mode with Nigel Ng by Comedy Central. For his debut solo show “Ilha Formosa '', Kuan-wen has been included in The Guardian's Top 10 Jokes. He was also selected by BBC Radio 4’s to feature in its “Fresh From The Fringe” 2023 line up. Also, Kuan-wen is a finalist in the inaugural UK Channel 4 Sean Lock Comedy Award.
