Friends of the Salon: Navigating a fragmented public sphere
Details
On the 8th of December, the Zurich Salon will host our next Friends of the Salon roundtable, where we’ll discuss the topic of our divided and polarised public sphere. Many are concerned about conspiracy theories and general indifference. Additionally, the battles waged against formerly respected institutions and their roles has intensified. The public sphere appears to be in a moment of deep crisis as people struggle to agree on once taken-for-granted facts, such as biological reality or the importance of expertise when discussing health policies. How did we get to this point and should trust be restored? Is that loss of trust justified? Or is talk of trust lost an exaggeration?
Ask a friend to tag along, grab a drink and enjoy a cozy setting with curious-minded individuals.
