🐑 A lovely traditional Swiss event in Valais! 🇨🇭

The sheep are coming down from the mountains after spending the summer in the Inner Aletsch region, and it’s celebrated with a really traditional Swiss program. 🏔️🐑

There’ll be delicious Valais specialities, plenty of folk music, dancing and a great local atmosphere. 💃🎶🧀

It’s a wonderful chance to experience a genuine Swiss tradition and tourists and visitors are very welcome too! 😊

Saturday, September 5, 2026
12.00 : Start of “Schäful” on Belalp with food service
12.30 : Puppet show
Starting at 13.00: Shepherding traditions between the Aletschbord and the Färricha
14.30 : Arrival of the sheep at Aletschbord
17.00 : Award ceremony for the “Flower Sheep” with flower godmother Alya Bärtschi,
President of the Upper Valais Black-Nosed Sheep Breeders’ Association
