Its time to dig out the boards, gather your gear, and exercise your quads for the upcoming season. Its also an opportunity to burn off some the holiday treats and dinners. This is a show-and-go trip to Ragged or Cannon, depending on conditions and who offers us the best pre-season, group discount ($45 is estimate). All skiers and riders are welcome, so bring your friends, kids, or relatives for a day of fun on snow. No deposit is necessary, but please let me know if you are coming - this helps me negotiate our group discount.

Skiers, we're on for skiing this SATURDAY at Sunapee. Limited trails (3 top to bottom), but weather looks sunny and snow should be soft. We have a group rate of $34 per adult, but need 15 people. I would like to hear a message from each of you confirming before I drop $500 from my pocket. If we don't get 15 persons, then we pay the window price ($40 ??). There will be demo skis and snowboards from from seven ski manufacturers and three snowboard manufacturers.

We'll meet in the Sunapee lodge, upstairs, around 9:00. I will bring passes to distribute - need cash or check. We'll hit the slopes around 9:30ish and regroup for lunch. I encourage everyone to car pool, so use the meetup site to find a ride.

I'm looking to car pool on Saturday, but may need to leave a bit early for another commitment. Could meet in Woburn or the park and ride in Andover.

What time did you need to leave by?

I'm definitely not going anymore. I have a season's pass at Gunstock and will be using that instead. Conditions at Sunapee don't warrant the cost. Have fun!

I'm planning to join this event.
Where do I meet the group, pick up tickets?

Any one looking to car pool?

Talked with Sunapee and they gave us $34 group rate on Saturday. They list two top-bottom trails open and hope to add another by Sat.
We need 15 persons for group rate, so please remove RSVP if you are not coming.

Either day, any place is ok with me.
Sunapee does get awards for cover and grooming tho.

    Which mountain are you proposing?

Weather for Saturday looks pleasant with temps in mid-40s. Sunday cools off with chance of flurries (yeah!). I like skiing fresh snow, but suspect it will be pushed off exposing hard layer underneath.
So I propose we move this day to Saturday insteead of Sunday. Will that screw up people's plans?

Saturday works for me, may just need to leave a bit early to get home by 4 or so.

Temps are getting colder, so Cannon at least will be making snow. Sunapee tix are $35 if you bring 5 non-perishable items. If they make snow, that might be my vote, as they do a fine job grooming. I am up for whatever we find!

I was just at Cannon on Saturday (19.50 lift ticket for a donation of 4 canned goods). Anyway... they did not have top to bottom. The Peabody chair was the highest with only one way down from mid mountain until most of the way down, where it forked right before the chairlift. The Zoomer chair was also open servicing one intermediate trail. ~Heidi

Hey skiers, last night was unkind to our local resorts dropping rain instead of snow. Cannon has lower lifts open serving about 3 top-to-bottom runs (adv or intermediate level). Ragged is about the same. Killington has more trails, but 3 hour drive and $80 pass is discouraging me. Any thoughts?

Sad I can't come. Would be a good chance to get ready for the Novice-Intermediate Telemark ski workshop offered by the AMC Boston Chapter Ski Committee on Jan 5, 2013. Hope to see some of you there.

    Hi Jeff:
Looking forward to some early season skiing. It's great to get out, check out the dusty gear, and have some fun. I'm in Metro West if anybody wants to car pool from there. Let me know.

    Phil.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
