Lessons Learned from Sketchnotes by Mike Rohde

Our regular monthly meeting on the beginning of every month! This time kindly hosted by the folks at Publitas.

For this month's event we are privileged to count with Mike Rohde on stage, he's coming to Amsterdam to deliver a workshop at the dsgnday conference and will make some time to talk with us about sketchnoting, thumbs up Mike!

Schedule:

19:00  Welcome
19:30  Introduction
19:40  Mike Rohde: "Lessons Learned from Sketchnotes"
20:30  Social

Talk: "Lessons Learned from Sketchnotes"

Mike will share the history of sketchnotes: how they came to be, what he’s learned as he’s explored the approach and has grown the sketchnoting community. He will share a wide variety of sketchnotes from people internationally, then open the discussion for questions about sketchnotes from the audience.

Speaker: Mike Rohde

Mike is a designer, author, illustrator and sketchnoter, living in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He is the author of "The Sketchnote Notebook" and "The Sketchnote Workbook" which we really recommend if you want to be introduced to sketchnoting and visual communication.

As mentioned before, Mike will be also offering a workshop about sketchnoting on the 11th of November at the dsgnday event in Amsterdam.

Was the talk filmed? Filming and sharing all these talks online would be just amazing (and make a lot of sense.)

Well, it has certainly been sketchnoted.

Was the wipebook (.com) mentioned? I LOVE mine! They actually offered me a discount if ordering a 100 or more but I never had the chance to rally up all creatives in Amsterdam... Perhaps someone else wants to.

Mike was talking about some books. Specifically I'm looking for the one that was called something like 'Shape a world' ? Can't seem to find it though... Anyone ?

We are restricting the RSVP for one week before the event to try to control the non-show up rate we had in previous events. Apologies for that, we'll send a reminder in meetup and twitter when we open the registration.

    • David M.

Of course any suggestion is always welcome

The announcement at last meet-up sounded very interesting, so I want to be there next time too. When will the RSVP's open? maybe 27 October?

    October 7

    • Nymphaea N.

Thansk I'll put a reminder in my calendar :)

      October 8

    • David M.

Don't worry, we'll notify the group by mail and twitter when the time comes, which reminds me, it's me who should put it in the calendar

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.
