JS Fundamentals: Scopes and Closures / The First Ever Q&A

What'sup y'all!

This month we are going to shake it up a little and do something different.

Scopes and Closures

First, Chris Aquino - the great teacher and Director of Frontend and HTML5 from Big Nerd Ranch will explain to us how scopes and closures in JavaScript works. Chris fearlessly, and with a zen-like calm, leads BNR's web team. If Chris’s ping-pong skills don’t impress you, perhaps you will be wowed by his ability to open, apply, and close a tube of lip balm with just one hand.

First Ever Q & A

For a long time I have wondered, what would happen if we just open up the floor to questions and answers at the meetup? Come and find out!

Do you have a burning question about JavaScript, programming, career, or life in general? It can be a detailed and nit picky question or a large and big-picture question. Maybe a question that you haven't quite gotten a satisfactory answer to in the past. Anything from "WTF is `this`?" to "which framework should I use?" If you have one, write it down and bring it to the meetup. There will be people of various skill levels and various career stages to help you.

I decided to start Reno Motorcycle Riders Group because I wanted to be part of a group of people who enjoyed my passion... I was excited and nervous. Our group has grown by leaps and bounds. I never thought it would be this big.

Henry, started Reno Motorcycle Riders
