React World Tour - Talks by the React community!

Online event

We have a special meetup this month! React World Tour is coming to Atlanta (Virtually)!

This meetup will feature three amazing talks:

================================================================

Talk 1: Build Fullstack Apps in Record Time with Blitz.js

Speaker: Brandon Bayer (@flybayer)

Blitz.js is the Fullstack React Framework. It's heavily inspired by Ruby on Rails and is focused on making you as productive as possible. It extends Next.js and adds all the missing pieces you need for building a fullstack app with a database. By far the biggest innovation of Blitz is the new "Zero-API" data layer that abstracts away the API so you don't have to mess with REST or GraphQL APIs! And out of the box so many things are already set up like ESLint, Jest, and even a production ready user authentication and authorization system! Brandon will cover all that and provide you everything you need to start using Blitz yourself.

Talk 2: What's New in React 18?

Speaker: Shruti Kapoor (shrutikapoor08):

A quick look into the most exciting features of React 18 - createRoot API, startTransition & Automatic Batching
React 18 alpha version was recently announced. The theme of React 18 is to make the UI more performant by removing janky user experiences by introducing out of the box features and improvements powered by "concurrent rendering". This talk explores three most popular features of React 18 along with code samples.

Talk 3: GraphQL in the enterprise!

Speaker: Tracy Lee (@ladyleet)

GraphQL is not just a buzzword, but is a useful tool for both front and backend teams to be able to work more effectively together. We’ll cover GraphQL’s client operations and how to utilize them, how to design your GraphQL API, and developing the server API. We’ll show you tools like GraphiQL, GraphQL Playground, and Apollo for testing and building your APIs. Additionally, you’ll learn best practices to avoid common mistakes when developing your GraphQL API.
