Hello JS'ers!

Thanks everyone for coming out this past Wednesday! If you didn't come out, don't worry, I will fill you in.

Next month - the month of February - we are having a Javascript Framework Shootout Hackathon! Here's the plan: everyone will build the same app, the specs will be released on the day of the hackathon. You will work in teams of 1-3, and you will build the app using the framework your choosing. If you want to help us plan this event, please contact us at [address removed]. More details to come.

The Javascript class (our regular monthly workshop) will start back up soon, keep an eye out for an event announcement.

The Wednesday's event was video recorded, and will be posted when it is ready.

We had some great participation during meetup planning. Not only did we come up with great ideas on what to do this year, we also took votes on them to let the best ones float to the top - I have spotlighted the top 8:

We'd like to make these things happen this year, but we *cannot* do it alone. If something on that list jumps out at you as I-could-do-that, consider helping out your fellow JS developers because *clearly*, they are hungry for knowledge! Email me at [address removed] if you'd like to present.

Last but not least, Javascript star Kyle Simpson will be giving a day-long workshop on March 22nd, covering "JavaScript: The What-You-Need-To-Know Parts", you can book your seat at http://getify-atl-js.eventbrite.com/.
