What we’re about
We are a group of scientific skeptics (as opposed to 'conspiracy skeptics') with a heavy emphasis on critical thinking. If you don't believe in paranormal ability, ouija boards or ghosts then this group is for you.
FOUNDED IN 2008, we have many field trips and casual get-togethers just to socialize with other critical thinkers as well, and of course our great pot-luck summer and winter solstice parties.
Our goal: To support the agnostic/athiest/skeptic/humanist community with local meetings, potluck parties, and other social events. To spread the word that scientific skeptics and non-believers that promote secular values and the separation of church and state. We cherish humanistic values over any supernatural superstitions and encourage others to look at their worldview with critical thinking skills.
I hope you join our group and enjoy the conversations we have!

About this event
This post-term SCOTUS briefing will unpack the Supreme Court’s most significant decisions related to religious freedom, public education, and church-state separation. We’ll spotlight what these rulings mean for our rights, what trends are emerging across the Court, and how AU and our allies are responding — including updates on AU’s recent legal cases and broader legal and policy work beyond the Court. Attendees will gain a clear understanding of the current legal landscape — and how they can stay engaged in the fight for real religious freedom.About AU - www.au.org
Freedom Without Favor, Equality Without ExceptionThe separation of church and state protects everyone’s right to live as themselves and believe as they choose, as long as they don’t harm others. For nearly 80 years, Americans United has defended church-state separation – a pillar of our democracy and the best way to ensure freedom without favor and equality without exception for all.

About:
Good Trouble Lives On is a national day of nonviolent action to respond to the attacks posed on our civil and human rights by the Trump administration and to remind them that in America, the power lies with the people. On July 17, the anniversary of Congressman John Lewis’s passing, we’re taking action across the country to defend our democracy and carry forward his legacy of Good Trouble.
From voter suppression bills like the SAVE Act to the criminalization of protest, the Trump administration is launching a full-scale attack on our civil and human rights. But we know the truth: in America, the power lies with the people, and we’re rising to prove it.
This is more than a protest; it’s a moral reckoning. A continuation of the movement Lewis helped lead, and a new front in the struggle for freedom.
Please note: A core principle behind our Good Trouble Lives On actions is a commitment to nonviolence in all we do. We expect all participants to seek to de-escalate any potential confrontation with those who disagree with our values.
