It's always good to meet fellow Mustachians in the wild and just chat about ideas; it also helps us to stay focused on our goals when we speak with people who have the same goals.

This meetup is a departure from the normal meetups in the SF area, as it is in Moss Landing and is also an event hosted free by Far West Fungi. Info below. Hope the mushroom-themed event stimulates interesting discussion on how a useful product is formed from "waste".

Gardeners: bring garbage bags or containers or trucks-- you can take spent mushroom blocks home for use as great amendment to your garden or keep growing amazing mushrooms (eg shiitakes)!

Carpooling spreadsheet to help but feel free to PM people as well:

Far West Fungi Semi-Annual Farm Tour and Potluck, Sunday October 30th
Come join us for this unique opportunity to visit California's largest family-run organic mushroom farm! Led by our knowledgeable staff, this tour will show you each step in the cultivation process, including our laboratory, compost preparation, incubation chambers and growing rooms. Afterwards you'll enjoy a grilled mushroom tasting and the opportunity to purchase discounted mushrooms from our farm stand.
Our farm is located on a bluff near the heart of Monterey Bay and Highway 1, where the coastal breezes, cool mornings and sunny afternoons are perfect for mushroom growth. Bring one entree to share with four to six people and enjoy the scenic views of our 50-year-old Ranch-style farm overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The tour is from 12:00PM to 4:00PM.
The address is:
1186 Trafton Road Moss Landing CA, 95039
Please note that our farm is not open to the public except on scheduled tour days.
