Hey Boston QS!
I was wondering ...
1. If there are 1 or 2 people who would be willing to help me coordinate the event? In particular, I would love for someone to be in charge of getting the slides on one computer and well displayed during the event.
2. Jake Hoppe, of EidoSearch, asks if there are any health data sets out there that he could put through his visual search algorithm, as a way to flesh out his demo. His algorithms can identify visual patterns in data, and find all instances of that pattern. So, for example, heart rate data captured over the course of a day, or sleep data captured over the course of several nights, would be examples where you could look for similarities across the dataset.
The data set doesn't have to be huge to be meaningful here -- a rich personal data set would work as well as one collected from a small sample. Let me know if you have any ideas!
3. And finally, the theme of measurement is really only interesting because we have some people talking about new kinds of measurements (novel statistics and visual searching.) On the personal level, it's the heart of the Quantified Self. So! If you have a personal self-tracking story you'd like to share for this meetup, please drop me a line!
That's all. See you guys next week!
