Pub Stumpers Returns for Fall 2012 @The Libertine Pub!

Pub Stumpers Returns for the Fall of 2012, and DSN is right in the thick of it !!

Get your thinking caps on, flip through yer high school notes, and grab your old textbooks out of the junk drawer - it's time for Pub Stumpers @The Libertine Pub!!

**Feel free to come out & check it out one night - we aren't concerned about a serious, long-running team - DSN is all about new things, getting out of your shell or comfort zone, and meeting people!
You don't HAVE to return the next week - but there's a good chance you'll WANT to!!!

WHAT:

Trivia, more trivia, & even the useless information your grandpa used to mumble on about... you WERE listening, I hope!

The Libertine offers a weekly set of trivia, provided the PubStumpers.com website.
The format is as follows...

Teams of up to 6 can play together - the format is as follows:

  • 10 general interest questions (10 points)
  • 10 song clips - name the ARTIST & TITLE (20 points)
  • 10 multiple-choice questions (10 points)
  • <break>
  • 10 general interest questions (10 points)
  • 10 song clips - name the ARTIST & TITLE (20 points)
  • 10 multiple-choice questions (10 points)
  • 5 final questions (10 points)
  • The tie-breaker (just in case)!!
  • throughout the evening, you can fill in the 10 'identify the picture' questions (10 points)

A total of 100 points are available to be scored.
We shuffle the answer sheets around the room, the host reads out the correct answers, and whichever team comes out with the highest scores, wins a discount on their tab for the night.

WHEN:

Tuesdays at 6:30!!!
The trivia game begins around 6:30, and run about 2 hours. Let's meet around 6:00pm, get our mojo on with a drink, snack or dinner, first, and work out our strategy... (concentrating of course, on the drink or food... or at least, the drink!!!)

WHERE:

The Libertine Pub is on the south side of 8th Ave (Stephen Avenue), a couple of doors east of 8th Ave and 2nd St SW - it is opposite the McDonald's.

The Pub Stumping is upstairs, where we have the whole floor for the trivia teams.

Our group is (almost always) in the 2nd or 3rd booths on the left, at the top of the stairs.

WHY:

It's fun, it's edu-taining, it's a great way to meet new people in the group, a good opportunity to show off your knowledge (or to be embarrassed by it!), and an overall good time...

HOW:

Show up... that's about it!!

LEAGUE PLAY:

There is a rotating 12-week League Play for those interested in a regular run of the game - but it's not too serious, and it IS a lot of FUN, FUN, FUN!!!!

HOW MUCH:

The Stumping is free!!
For our group, $1 DoSomethingNew Meetup fee is a traditional fee.  However, due to the nature of this 'regular' event, I will not charge the loonie.

Food/drink are your own responsibility - we usually get a group/table bill, but it's not difficult to break it down when the tables are only of a half-dozen people.

Sorry about that, Sand - I have had a personal situation this week; can't make it; and forgot to update the events. There are several others over there from this Meetup group (but not signed up here!) who are watching for you!

We just grab a coffee and speak French. Some people have been coming every week for months... it creates a kind of warmth to the group.
