Recycling Fair - Evanston - Show the Earth some love

We have a wonderful opportunity to help at the Evanston Recycling Fair.

The City of Evanston will host its fourth annual recycling fair from 9 a.m. to noon on Saturday, July 12 at Evanston Township High School, 1600 Dodge Ave. The fair provides residents an opportunity to recycle a variety of items, securely shred documents, obtain recycling education materials, learn about construction projects, visit with “green” vendors, and get a close look at some of the Streets and Sanitation Division’s heavy equipment.
Volunteers will be helping with a variety of things: Taking recyclables from vehicles and putting them in the recycling tubs, helping at the different recycling stations, directing traffic, handing out flyers, possibly manning an information booth/touch a truck, set-up and clean-up of tables, etc., before and after the event.
Teenagers and adults welcome. There will be physical lifting involve for some assignments, so dress comfortably.
There is designated Volunteer/Staff parking which will be clearly noted. We will have the roads closed off so cars will only be able to enter northbound on the main driveway off of Lake St. Parking lot will be on the NW side. Volunteers are asked to come 30 minutes earlier before event start time and stay 1 hour later to help with clean up, from 8:30 am to 1 pm.
