ChicagoRuby: Downtown - MongoDB & Rails 3.1

MongoDB by 10gen is a widely used NoSQL database. Our presenter will take us through the process of building a Rails app on top of MongoDB. For an even deeper experience, come prepared with the following installed on your laptop: Rails 3.1 (http://weblog.rubyonrails.org/2011/8/16/ann-rails-3-1-0-rc6), Mongoid (http://mongoid.org/), and MongoDB (http://www.mongodb.org/).

Ryan Fischer is the Founder of 20spokes focusing on helping businesses grow on the web with innovation and technology. He has over 10 years of experience with development for the web mixed in with startups and young growth companies. He has yet to wear a tie for work and strives to continue this mission. He is continuously learning and exploring new innovations in technology and is a strong believer that there is no one way to solve a problem. Being a polyglot, he continues to learn new languages and paradigms. He is an avid developer with Ruby on Rails and MongoDB is quickly becoming his go to choice for NoSQL.
