What we’re about
CloudAustin is a community for Austin area technology practitioners interested in learning and sharing about their experiences with cloud computing, DevOps, containerization, and other cutting edge technology architecture and practice.
We've been around for over 10 years. Our meetings are open to all, and has a mix of developers, systems/ops/DevOps, other technical (security, QA), sales and marketing, and product development folks attending regularly.
We have monthly meetings (free admission and we try to get sponsors to buy food for us) on the third Tuesday evening of the month. We are always looking for volunteers to speak or demo at the meetings and for sponsors to buy the food.

Lucas Duarte and Rodrigo Bersa will be speaking about Platform Engineering with Kubernetes: Streamlining SaaS Tenant Provisioning through DevOps Automation.
The Kubernetes infrastructure automation tool chain provides SaaS builders with a rich collection of constructs that can be used to support the complex onboarding and provisioning requirements of SaaS environments. In this session, we'll look at a fully working tenant onboarding and provisioning experience that addresses the unique nuances that teams must support in multi-tenant environments. The goal here is to create an end-to-end solution that uses Flux, Terraform Controller, Argo Workflows, Helm, and other Kubernetes tools to create and configure tenant EKS environments, supporting a range of tiers and deployment models.
Sudhi Bhat will be speaking about Embracing the ARM architecture for Cloud Computing.
As the demands for cloud computing continue to grow, the need for energy-efficient and scalable computing architectures becomes increasingly important. Arm-based processors, with their low power consumption and high performance-per-watt ratio, offer a compelling alternative to traditional x86 architectures in the cloud computing space. This talk will explore the advantages of adopting Arm architecture for cloud computing workloads along with discussing the future of cloud computing and the role Arm architecture plays in shaping this landscape. Additionally, we will discuss the ecosystem of software and tools available for Arm-based cloud platforms, enabling seamless application development and deployment.
