The Code for America Philly Team wants to invite you to join us in making Philadelphia a better place. We're seven tech geeks that are looking at how Philly works and finding ways to use technology to improve it's processes, then implement them. We need to wrangle other Philly geeks to help us in this endeavor.

What's this about?
People from the city government and the community come together, learn from each other, pitch simple projects to work on, break into teams, and accomplish awesome stuff.
How's this going to work?
We should learn from each other
Know a cool tool or technology that may be useful for others? Lead a quick info session! Have you done a project that you think would inspire others? Share it! We'll devote some time at the beginning to teach-ins, and we should be learning throughout.
We should bring ideas, and be inspired
Bring an idea for a project for the day. Projects should be concentrated and digestible; we're aiming for projects that can be completed the day of the lab. Could be a local app, scraping data from a government website to make it available for others, or even creating your own data catalog of government data. We'll pitch the projects as the day get started, so come with an idea. No ideas? Come willing to jump onto someone elses.
We should be inclusive
We want a variety of skillsets -- Developers, Designers, Librarians, Statisticians, Organizers. The movement is stronger when it is broader. Don't have strong development chops? Come pitch a project, or be pitched to, and learn with us!
Let's not try to boil the ocean, but let's have quick accomplishments that we can get excited about. Above all let's raise some awareness, build something and have some fun.
