Learn the rhythms that dolphins respond to. Sailing the St. Lucie River aboard the schooner “Lily” is ideal for this interactive form of drumming. In case of rain the boat is reserved for same time the next day.

Directions: From I-95 take exit 101 and merge onto FL-76 E/SW Kanner Hwy heading E toward Stuart. Go E 6.4 miles to US-1, turn left. Go N 0.7 mi on US-1. Turn right at SW 2nd St (just south of the Roosevelt Bridge) go 499 ft. At the traffic circle, take the 3rd exit onto SW St Lucie Ave, go 322 ft. Turn left at SW Flagler Ave, go .1 mi. Flagler Park is on the right.

Buddy Helm is the author of Drumming the Spirit to Life and The Way of the Drum. Classically trained from the age of 8, Buddy has recorded, toured and played with musicians such as Tim Buckley, Frank Zappa, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Baba Olatungi and many others. He wrote the Star Wars Comic strips for George Lucas; wrote reviews for creem; was post production supervisor for Lorimar; Director of the “At Sunset” MTV pilot, and hosted a drumming TV show in Los Angeles that aired for 5 years. His videos and artwork have been in the National Festival of the Arts.
