South Florida Drum Circles

Come join with us lakeside at beautiful Countess de Hoernle Park (AKA Spanish River Athletic Park) for an afternoon of drumming, friendship, connection, and of course, sunset. This is a free gathering. Things to bring: your drum (some loaners are available if you don't have a drum), a seat, something to drink. Please understand that Alcohol, smoking/vaping are not allowed in the park. Drums are the worlds’ oldest musical instrument and have been connecting people for thousands of years. ALL are welcome -Whether you've never played drums before, been playing for years, or just want to come hang out and join us for an evening of connection, love & magic...

-The Delray Beach drum circle is a friendly, intimate, groove-oriented gathering. Come by and experience for yourself the magic of this special night, people and location.

Things to bring: Drum, shaker, other percussion, something to sit on, dancing feet, something to drink, (no alcohol), a smile...

Please remember...
-No electronic or amplified music at or near the circle
-No drumming/dancing/hanging out on the stage or in the Loggia area that connects the theater to the museum.
-No fire, fire dancing or fire spinning is permitted at this gathering.
-No venders or vending is permitted in or around the drum circle
-This gathering may be moved or cancelled when it conflicts with a major event in the park

Parking: Metered parking in the 4 story garage on the north side of the park where we drum. (Off NE 1st street, 1 block north of Atlantic Ave, 1 block east of Swinton Ave). Free parking on the surrounding side streets and the parking lots on NW 1st Ave.

*** If it is raining at the location at the time of the circle we may play in the garage, postpone or cancel... (We are not allowed on the stage unless we have special permission to play there on that night).

On the first Friday of the month, Sunsport lights a bonfire and welcomes the public to a drum circle from 9 til midnight.

Drummers, dancers, fire spinners and music-lovers all are welcome. So bring your dancing feet, clapping hands, singing voices and of course, your drums!

Sunsport is a clothing-optional family resort. If it rains we will be in the pavilion by the pool, which has good accoustics.

Bring a photo I.D. to sign in at the gate. Grounds fees are waived for participants, beginning at 5pm. So come early, eat in the café and enjoy-

· sauna (please bring a towel)

Directions from South and East:· Exit Okeechobee Blvd.from Florida's Turnpike (Exit #99) or Interstate I-95 (Exit #70 West Palm Beach).· West on Okeechobee Blvd. 8.5 miles from the Turnpike. Drive through the town of Royal Palm Beach. · Turn right (north) on D Road (a dirt road) after the city of Royal Palm Beach. Follow D Road two miles to the end. You will come to a T at North Road.· Turn right onto North Road. · Take first available left (0.3 mile) into Sunsport Gardens.

Directions from the North: ·
From Interstate 95, exit at Northlake Blvd. · Drive west on Northlake Blvd. for 8.5 miles. · Turn left at light onto Coconut Blvd. Continue on Coconut Blvd. 5 miles until the road ends. · Turn right on 40th St. Drive 1.5 miles past stop sign.Jog left at 140th Ave., look for the sign. Continue straight for short distance, then right into Sunsport Gardens.
Directions from the West: · From State Route 80, turn left (north) at light at Seminole Pratt Whitney. Drive on Seminole Pratt Whitney 1.5 miles to Okeechobee Blvd. · Right (east) on Okeechobee Blvd. · Turn left (north) on D Road (a dirt road). Follow D Road two miles to the end. You will come to a T at North Road.· Turn right onto North Road. Take first available left (0.3 mile) into Sunsport Gardens.
