Talking People Off of Ledges

IF YOU WANT TO ATTEND, please also RSVP on the Facebook page.

Please join IxDA Seattle and Content Strategy Seattle in May for a talk by Scott Pierce.

No matter how much attention to detail goes into the work, invariably there's an anxiety over content that can bring a project to a dead stop. Sometimes clients and team members need empathy, flexibility and downright irrefutable data just to overcome project paralysis. Don't have a content strategy sidekick to advocate with you? Steal these methods from a content strategist to help realize the vision faster… and nobody gets hurt.

Scott Pierce is Senior Content Strategist at POP. As a co-organizer of Content Strategy Seattle, he’s an advocate of the creation, aggregation, delivery and governance of useful, usable and appropriate content.

From his early days as an assistant story editor in children's television, he parlayed that into producing at's first subscription content venture. Scott's been fortunate enough to work with clients as diverse as Target, Toyota, ABC, Russell Investments, XBOX, Microsoft, Colliers International, Steppenwolf Theatre, and many more.

I thought Scott was wonderfully prepared for his presentation and I found it useful to hear about his experiences.

Very interesting talk. It's sad we still have to explain and make the case for Content Strategy. Scott had useful metaphors and examples. Also reminded us of how best to deal with clients who like beans up their noses.

If you can forgive the preposition abuse in the title, it'll be a fun night.
