A quick roundup of Content Strategy: Seattle topics

Thanks to everyone who came out for our second meetup on Wednesday night! Vermillion was a bit noisier than last time, parking was a little tighter, and little did I expect the State of the Union to fall on our night, but it was great to see everyone and I'm glad we got a chance to do a roundtable discussion in the second half of the evening.

It's also been nice to see things like job postings come through the list -- thanks to Vanessa for breaking the ice on that.

We've got a few ideas for future meetups.

Check them out, vote for your favorites, and suggest other ideas. That said, I don't know that we're obligated to have a theme every time we get together.

I'd like to schedule the discussion about deliverables in the relatively near future. And a couple of content strategists have agreed to answer questions for an "Ask the Content Strategist" night -- but the more the merrier. If you're a practicing content strategist and would be up for it, let me know and I'll start coordinating schedules.

Vermillion is nice enough, but a little noisy. I'm wide open for suggestions for other places. I'll probably look into one of the public library meeting rooms for Ask the Content Strategist, for example.

I'm thinking monthly as a target. So I'll poke around for a mid-February date, and aim for a mid-March date as well.

I've put up a poll about our favorite nights for meeting: When would you prefer to meet?

Kristina Halvorson is up for drinks and discussions on Tuesday, April 6: Operation Halvorson. She's in town for An Event Apart earlier that day (itself worth checking out).

We need to decide on a place to have it -- I'm assuming the downtown area would work best.

And while I certainly hope to attend, as those of you who've been to a meetup probably know, my wife and I are expecting our second child. The kid's due March 29; if the timing works out, we'll be at the event, but if it doesn't, we'll have other obligations. If anyone wants to be a co-host of the event, let me know.

Finally, I'm on twitter: @scarequotes

I'm following many of you, but probably not everyone; let me know your username and I'll add you to my Content Strategy: Seattle list.

Thanks for being part of the group! Please share your ideas, either on the list or with me privately.
