Reading an actual book! Health Care?

We had a request to do something a little unusual for our group: read an actual book!

As a first suggestion, how about:

Just about every meetup we have a lot of trouble keeping the conversation away from Health Care, so we could potentially do a series of books on the topic. If you have other books about controversial topics (not controversial books), post them in them in the comments and we can vote on possibly changing the book.

While we usually vote on the next meetup, it's highly likely that we'll be doing one on the Supreme Court health care case and on Georgia SPLOST (transportation bill) as those topics are going to be very timely, and have gotten a bunch of votes in the past.

Group info:

Our group is focused on learning more than honing debating skills. The goal is to hear viewpoints you never would have been exposed to in your normal circles, and to hopefully get a little deeper than the sound bytes we hear on the news. Do feel free to play devil's advocate and argue the other side.

Note: a lot of us eat dinner during the meetup, feel free to do so as well. This also makes the venue happier. There was a suggestion last time to order food at 7 so we can start talking at 7:30 without ordering getting in the way.

There's an optional $2 fee for this meetup. This helps cover the $180 annual meetup cost.

It's OK to come late, we're an informal group and understand work and traffic can get in the way.

We do a book exchange (thanks to Erin!), too, so bring anything you'd like to part with.
