Meet and Greet

After touching base with Mike about how much the community has grown since we first met back in 2008/2009, we decided that another meet and greet as we did then around UBC campus would be a great way to touch base, get to know each other, and take stock of how far we've come and our future goals. Concurrently with and following these early meetings, over the past few years I have accumulated and built up many of the basic pieces of equipment necessary for a rudimentary biology lab, in the interests of contributing these to a bio space once we had the members, knowledge and means. I'm now planning now to visit other biohacker spaces around the globe in the hopes of gaining further practical knowledge in the field, and would like to leave the equipment I've built up in the hands of the Vancouver community for their use and as contributions to a future space for our group.

Mahoney's at UBC has a great patio that we can meet at around 6pm and get to know one another, and if there's interest we can go from there to drop-in at my nearby apartment to check out all the bio equipment, nerd out and talk shop a little.

This is a really exciting time for DIYbio Vancouver, though I've gotten busy in the last half year and have missed the most recent events (which all looked fantastic), I look forward to catching up and talking about the next steps for the local community!
