It will be 5+ miles at a brisk pace of about 3.0 mph depending on trail conditions. We might get 6 miles if all trails and creek crossings are passable (they should be). We will meet and begin at the Smith House entrance of Bill Yeck Park.

There are hills and creek crossings, so sturdy boots/shoes, and hiking poles are recommended. The trails are likely to be muddy in spots, so waterproof hiking boots and gaiters might be helpful. If the creeks are too high to safely cross, we will re-route. Bring plenty of water and dress for the weather. I do not recommend this hike for beginners.

If storms/wind/heavy rain or snow are in the area I may cancel, so please check here prior to heading out.

Invasive species crowd out native plants. BCWA strives to bring back the native species that once thrived in our area.

Work gloves recommended. We have some to borrow if needed.

Hiking a loop trail going between two big hills and a few smaller hills in-between beginning and ending at the Paw Paw Pavilion parking lot. Will be passing by the parking lot after each loop. You can do one, two or three loops and see how you like it.

Each loop takes about 30 minutes, so you can join in after first or second loop if you prefer but sign up and post when you are coming so we know to be looking for you.

Meet by the restroom area.

Three loops, both hills three times each - 5.25 miles
Two loops, both hills two times each - 3.5 miles
One loop, both hills one time each - 1.75 miles

Averaging between 3.25 - 3.5 mph
Can be a strenuous hike at this pace.

No dogs please on this hike.
